For Mount Pleasant Town Council
This is my first time running for office, and I am eager to bring a fresh perspective as a working parent of three young children. My family has fallen in love with Mount Pleasant because of its beauty, unique character, and sense of community, and I am committed to preserving those qualities while guiding our town responsibly through this important period of growth and decision-making.
My husband and I have lived in North Mount Pleasant for the past five years, raising our three active young children. I stay enthusiastically involved in their education and am involved with the parents’ association at their school. Outside of work and family, I enjoy playing mahjong and connecting with people (most likely at the sports fields or at my children’s activities) and forming relationships that continually remind me of the strength of our community.
Originally from Florida, I graduated from the University of Florida and have loved the Gators ever since! After completing my bachelors degrees in health education and nursing, I went on to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). My education and training have instilled in me a strong passion for prevention and preparedness, a commitment to teamwork, and the ability to make well-informed, critical decisions by thoroughly assessing situations and applying evidence-based BEST practices. Being a mother has been my greatest accomplishment, and I am constantly learning about balance, efficiency, compromise, and diplomacy every day (it’s amazing what young kids can teach you!)

Communication
Communication is vital. It is vital not only in personal relationships, but in building a strong and connected community. It must be open, transparent, and easy to access, especially for busy working families. I will explore user-friendly ways to share information so that more residents can stay informed and engaged. When people understand what’s happening in their town, they are empowered to help shape its future. No one should feel left out or discouraged simply because information is complicated or difficult to find and understand.

Knowledge
Knowledge is the cornerstone of informed decision-making. For our community to form fair and accurate opinions on proposals and issues, residents must have access to clear, reliable, and thorough information. I am committed to working with the town council to improve how this information is shared and making it more accessible, understandable, and convenient for busy families.

Teamwork
Teamwork is the foundation for turning ideas into meaningful action. Real change doesn’t happen alone. It requires collaboration among council members and with the community. We are one unified body, committed to the shared goal of keeping Mount Pleasant a tranquil, beautiful, and unique place to call home. By working together, we can better understand the needs of our citizens and accomplish more for our town. Our government depends on this spirit of teamwork.
Listening. Leading. Together.
Many important issues face our town, but my top priority is making thoughtful, informed decisions that help shape a strong future, with meaningful input from the community. The recent town center development proposal was a turning point for me and ultimately inspired my decision to run for council. Witnessing the powerful impact of public statements during that process deepened my understanding of how essential it is to have elected representatives who genuinely listen to and advocate for the people they serve. It also underscored the importance of including fresh perspectives with voices from all walks of life as we continue to grow as a town.
There are many priorities we must address which includes improving infrastructure, enhancing public safety, promoting transparency, expanding recreational opportunities, responsible growth, and more. I recognize that every individual in our community may view these issues through a different lens, and each perspective deserves to be heard and respected.
